Transportation: Your first destination will most likely be Belgrade and from there to Novi Sad you can get either by train or by bus. Buses departure more frequently and prices of the tickets are 6-7 €. Train departures every hour or so and ticket price is a bit lower, 3-4 €.

 

Another option for reaching Novi Sad is flying to Budapest and then coming to Novi Sad by train. The cost of train is 15 € for one way ticket, or 26€ for round trip ticket. Besides train, from Budapest you can come by using the airport transfer. Price per person is 25€ for one way ticket, or 50 € for round trip ticket. Novi Sad also has a good railways connection to cities like Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Timisoara, Thessaloniki. More info can be found on the website of Serbian Railways. Besides train, the Eurolines company connects Novi Sad with many European cities by bus. The list of cities includes Graz, Linz, Vienna, Brussels, Antwerp, Liege, Zurich, Brno, Prague, Lyon, Marseille, Paris, Nice, Genova, Milano, Padova, Verona, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bratislava, Ljubljana and Maribor.

 

Once you are in Novi Sad, you can use public transportation. Price for the single ticket is 55 RSD (less than 0.5 €) and it's valid for one single ride; if you decide to change the bus, you have to buy a new ticket. Ticket is purchased from the bus driver. Accommodation: Depending on your exchange programme, you might be eligible to apply for a room in a dormitory, which is cheaper compared to the life in a flat, but it also means that student would have to share the personal space with another person. Most of the exchange students decide to share a flat. As with many other things, Buddies are there to help you out with finding a perfect flat for you. Depending on location, number of people in the flat and utilities, accommodation expenses in Novi Sad can vary from 150 to 400 €.
 

Student canteen: There is a possibility to eat at the students canteen. If you choose that option you'll need Student ID card (2000 RSD), and a "token" coin (1000 RSD).
